My Party is Better Than Yours!
So you want your next party or event to be cooler than the other guys?
It seems like all event planners are searching for a way to throw a better party, host a better reception, capture more awe, and blow way more people away than anyone else.
What is this urge, this primal sense that makes us want one up the Jones’? “Keeping up with the Jones” is a thing of the past- these days it is simply about being better than your neighbors, colleagues, and your competition.
On a corporate level companies find instilling a sense of ego in staff for being part of the organization to be not only beneficial in terms of strengthening loyalty, but also in keeping employment costs down, and especially in decreasing attrition rates.
Think back to your younger years- even schools hold pride in their football teams, education programs, mascots, etc… over their competition. This instills a sense of pride in the students- which makes them proud of what they are doing and in the end leads to each student’s individual success.
Some would suggest that this common effect we see is due to self confidence. There is nothing like building ones self confidence by doing something better than the guy next door. Boosting ones ego by throwing a great party not only makes you feel better, but it also invigorates you to work harder so you can throw an even bigger party next time.
Some of the largest parties we throw have a huge impact on each and every guest, every event staff person working the event, and each and every one of the planners behind the event. A significant thing happens when a huge party is thrown- its effect is limitless and will infect anyone who comes in contact with the event.
The infection spreads for months after a successful event- and this is because a well executed event affects all the senses. Imagination, Sight, Smell, Feeling, all the senses and all parts of a person’s being are affected when they walk into a major event. It is impossible to become immune to the feeling, the success, and the achievement of a major party no matter how many you see and do.
